Trolley

The Trolley Service has been in operation at Eastbourne District General Hospital since the Hospital first opened in 1976. The Friends now have a morning and an afternoon trolley service.

The Morning Trolley provides a valuable service to staff seven mornings a week, 365 days a year, so that those who cannot leave their post can buy a tasty lunch. It visits the wards from 9am each morning. Patients and visitors are also very welcome to buy from this trolley. It offers sandwiches, wraps, salads, crisps, confectionary, drinks and newspapers.

A Trolley Shop then visits the wards during the afternoon, from 2pm, on Monday to Friday, assuming volunteer availability.

The trolley provides an essential service to the patients, visitors and staff who are unable to leave the ward to visit the Main Shop. This trolley sells a wide range of goods including newspapers and magazines, confectionery, drinks, stationery, soft toys and toiletries.

Both are happy to be stopped in the corridor or wherever you see them!
