Whether you are making a donation yourself, giving a gift in someone’s memory, or simply using products and services which in turn will donate a percentage of the proceeds to the Friends, here are some of the ways in which you can help.
Membership
We are fortunate to have a large membership of the Friends, many of whom take an active role in our fundraising activities, such as volunteering either within or outside of the hospital. However, becoming a member does not commit you to helping us in an active capacity; it simply means that you are supporting the hospital by joining the Friends as either an Annual or a Lifetime Member. Many of our members join because they, or a friend or relative, have received such outstanding care during their time in the hospital and it is their way of saying thank you.
As a member, you will receive a membership card which you can present to receive certain local discounts; and you will be subscribed to our quarterly magazine, Hospitality, which will keep you updated on the work of the Friends and how much every donation and membership goes towards helping the hospital.
If you would like to join us please print off and fill in a Membership Application Form and return it to the Friends Office with your subscription. If you pay tax please consider filling in the Gift aid declaration section and we can reclaim 25p in every £1 of your subscription at no cost to you.
Making a Donation
Installing new equipment in the wards, or providing staff with items they need on the day-to-day would not be possible without our funding and the donations we receive.
If you would like to play a part in helping the DGH and its staff via the work of the Friends, you can make a donation by:

- Donating online at Charities Aid Foundation where you can make a one-off donation or set up a regular payment.

Alternatively, you can download and print our Standing Order Form to make a regular payment, and please do complete the Gift Aid section if you are a taxpayer as we can consequently reclaim 25p in every £1 of your donation at no cost to you.

Donations in Lieu of Funeral Flowers
Donations in lieu of flowers are a valuable source of income.
The loss of someone you love is a very difficult time for you and your family. Many families choose to provide the flowers at the funeral, but ask friends to make a charitable donation as a lasting tribute. We would like to thank all those families who name the Friends of Eastbourne Hospital to benefit from financial donations in lieu of funeral flowers, in memory of their loved ones.
You can request that donations given in memory of your loved one are used to benefit a specific ward or department in the hospital, but in the absence of a specific request, all money donated to the Friends is used to provide amenities, equipment and services for the patients, staff and visitors of Eastbourne DGH.
Your funeral director may be happy to collect and administer donations in lieu on your behalf, ensuring that they are sent according to your wishes.

Eastbourne Local Lottery is a weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in Eastbourne.
