Friends Donate Physiotherapy Devices

The Friends of Conquest and Eastbourne Hospitals have each donated two continuous passive motion machines to their respective hospitals. Each device costs £3,000 and are used during the rehabilitation of patients following various types of reconstructive joint surgery such as knee replacement. The device moves the knee joint through a controlled range of motion, the exact range can be set and adjusted precisely by a physiotherapist. Celebrating 30 years of Aquatic Physiotherapy

Patients, Physiotherapy, Estates and Housekeeping staff, old and new, gathered to celebrate 30 years of Aquatic Physiotherapy at Eastbourne DGH. Patients along with their physiotherapists were able to explain, to those present, the benefits of physiotherapy in water as part of their rehabilitation from injury, surgical procedure or for managing their long-term condition. A bladder scanner, which is used to assess the emptying capacity of the bladder, has been donated to the Urology Investigation Suite at Eastbourne DGH, thanks to the kindness of the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club and the Friends of Eastbourne Hospital.
