Each year the Friends of the Eastbourne Hospitals choose one specific planned purchase, carefully researched, prepared and approved by the DGH, which they promote extensively within the community for that 12 month period. It may be a piece of medical equipment, a refurbishment of an existing area, a new build or a large installation.
Every three months the Trustees consider bids put forward by the Trust, to provide extra services, equipment and amenities to benefit patients and staff in the hospital and in the community. Recent successful bids have included:
- £300 for a TV in the children’s waiting area in Glynde Ward
- £6,075 for a Cubescan Bladder Scanner for Urology
- £28,566 for a Middle Ear Analyser for Paediatric Audiology
